The big auction in our neck of the woods happened last Friday. Duwa's Auction is the biggest spring and fall consignment auction in this area. A lot of the items have been there a time or two before. Most of it is junk, rusty, beat up, rebuilt (the second time), overhauled and maybe usable if you would put a little time into it.
Now for what I bought down there: I found a later model John Deere 60. I have been looking for one of these for about 2 or 3 years but haven't found one in decent shape at a decent price. Friday I did and now it's parked in my driveway waiting to go to Grandpa's for a tune up. Then it will set with an auger on it this fall during harvest. Over the winter it will get a full restoration and also be a 4-H project.
I also Picked up a few bikes and a weight bench (Mom was thrilled since I still need to get rid of the other one).
Brock came home with some chicken cages and a few other nick-knacks. Bridgette was very happy when we came home with a goat milking stand that we bought for $5.
It was wet, cold, slow and all around just a miserable day of junk selling. On the bright side I have my first tractor. I'm ready for it to quit raining and dry out so we can harvest. Then I can hook my tractor up and hear it run.
